I have recently received a Variegated Sour Orange (Thanks Citrus Joe!)
The variegation was beautiful until the new flush of growth occured. Now everything is plain green.
Too much sun, too much shade? I have moved it around thinking it was getting too much of one.
I am also having trouble with a variegated Chinaberry I received about 5 weeks ago. Same senario, beautiful variegation...new growth all green.
Anybody got any ideas?
At least I know it is happy in the respect that it HAS new growth.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Darren

Hey Darren. If you mean a seedling, then they are very unstable. I have a seedling Seville sour orange that Joe sent me the seeds from. I produces some variegated leaves & then it will produce a flush of green leaves.

If you want a stable variegated citrus you need to get budwood from a good quality bud sport with nice variegation. I have variegated Seville & Bergamot sour orange that JoeReal sent me budwood of. These have excellent variegation of all the leaves.

If you want stop by today, I'll be here all day. Also on vacation for the next week as well... Wink
