How often does this happen?

I have a nearly 100% albino branch growing on my Centennial kumquat. There are a few isolated spots of chlorophyll on 2-3 of the leaves and a narrow light green stripe going along the length of the branch. This is the first time I've seen anything like this. The new branch is 10-12 inches in length and the leaves are now nearly full size. I had expected it to die off already, we shall see how long it lasts...

Very interesting bud sport. The albino twig seems to be thriving at the expense of mother tree and its regularly variegated foliage. Very Happy

It happens quite often. Remove it, it will eventually die anyway.

Thanks, I was going to guess that it wasn't terribly uncommon. It does look cool, though.
