Hi guys,
I hope it's OK that I keep posting here even though I'm a bit on my own on the organic issue. LOL I love my new citrus and I really value all the input you guys share here for fellow citrus addicts.

I think I figured out how to post pictures and wanted to get your expert opinions on the color of my new growth, especially my Gold Nugget.

I ordered it from Four Winds direct as a sleeve last month, and the new growth tender leaves arrived a little lighter than the rest of the leaves, but it has continued to get brighter. Is this a nitrogen deficiency? The leaves themselves have grown, and its putting out lovely new blooms, but the leaves look awful.

Just for kicks, I'm including a pic of my Meyer Lemon. It has some new growth that's brighter than the old growth. And in the 6 weeks I have it, I think it's not as dark as it used to be. It has put on tons of new growth and is swarming with big juicy blossom that the bees are battling over. I'm wondering if it's time to fertilize, though.

What do you think?

THANKS!!!

It is normal for all new growth to be a lighter shade of green than the old mature growth

New citrus leaves are always lighter green because the leaves grow faster than the tree's allocation of nitrogen to them. This slower allocation has nothing to do with the amount of nitrogen you supply, and does not relate to any type of a deficiency. As Bonnie said above, very normal. The leaves will completely darken up in about a month. Nice looking tree. - Millet
