Well, sorry to ask a basic questiona again.

I know you all said it was important not to over pot my plants. Today I got to citrus through the post, just tiny things, about eight incheas tall at the tallest I guess. The brief instructions say "repot in a bigger pot" so how do I know what size to use. Am I better to be repotting often in the smallest possible pots? at the moment they are in 4 inch pots. I have not checked to see how pot bound they are, because I dont want to disturb them until I am ready to rehome them in their new pots!

Lulu:
Whenever I have a small plant like that, I always replant it on a one gallon pot. And seemed to work that way. That's my experience.

Citrus like a crowded roots in their pots but not too much now. So you may have to leave in there for a year or 2 at least.

OK. Its so much to learn isn't it? I am spending loads and loads of time when I should be doing other stuff reading through threads here, and then I forget it all and have to re read again and again!

Benny, I was just looking at a huge thread with loads of photos of your citrus and they are AMAZING! Your family must get a real over load of vitamin C! Makes me feel so silly and humble looking at my two twiggy plants and my sprouting pips....

I started that way Lulu. And then I became "citruholic".
