I have read that in some parts of California the Lisbon bears year round. That, coupled with a reputation of being a bit more hardy, I chose it over a Eureka. I've already potted it but am having buyers remorse. I'd love to hear from those that either have both and can offer the comparisons, mainly in the fruit production and juice content, if the year round bearing is myth or fact and/or which you prefer. Additionally, I already do have a Meyer and am in Southern California (5 miles inland from the north end of Malibu, so we have a little coastal microclimate). Any and all opinions are welcomed!

Lisbon is a bigger tree and very thorny. I prefer Eureka of the two. They both produce year round here in so cal.

Thanks Chris! I had heard the thorns get better as the tree gets older. I plan on pruning it to keep it manageable, as it is in a pot. My mainconcern was if it'd be overbearing here on the coast, so, thanks for that confirmation.

Pruning a lemon tree, will eliminate the tree's ability to produce fruit. Just the growing in a container will go a long way to keep the tree small and manageable. - Millet (537-)
