Rangpur limes seem to be much more tolerant to HLB than other citrus and may be the only variety that can survive down here in southeast Florida. The local Home Depot has citrus available for sale even satsumas but I did not find Rangpur limes. Is the flavor of Rangpur limes good and similar to Key limes?

I planted a Glenn mango tree two weeks ago and recently purchased a Simmonds Avocado and another Glenn mango. I would like at least one citrus plant.

It is unfortunate that citrus greening (HLB) is so devastating and a severe limitation to citrus cultivation here otherwise I would plant many citrus trees.

The few Rangpur limes that I have tried were horrible.

There is a reason why almost no one grows Rangpur Lime. Even the Psyllids won't eat them. They are really not worth growing. Taste is awful. - Millet (274 BO-)

I thought they were pretty much considered rootstock and that the "lime" label is a bit of a misnomer. They are pretty much sour mandarins I think.

Rangpur Limes are not eat out of hand citrus.
In several countries Rangpur Limes are considered a culinary citrus. Some juice is added to orange juice to give it more character. Let us not forget Tanquery Rangpur Distilled Gin.
Four Winds Growers has this recipe on its web site.

Sparkling Rangpur Lime Punch
1 cup Rangpur lime juice
¾ cup pineapple juice
2 cups sugar
2 cups water
1 liter sparkling water
Ice

When life gives you Rangpurs, freeze the juice in ice trays, then store cubes in freezer bags.
Frozen cubes make a great beverage base to add to ice tea or fruit punch.
Combine ingredients shown for a refreshing punch.
