The world's first Starbucks coffee house! It is in Pike Market place, downtown Seattle, Washington.

Ahh, what we really came here for. Blueberries and Creme coffee. Blueberries are one major fruit crop of Washington and it is just fitting that Starbucks offer it there:

It went downhill from there for the company, IMO. After having offending commentary on one of my cups a few years ago and checking out the activities they help fund, they don't get a dime from me. Wish they would have just stuck with coffee/drinks. Some company gave me a Starbucks gift card last year and I finally found someone to give it away to after I explained to them why I wouldn't use it. For more info, you can read http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=45694.
Did you see the guys at Pike's toss the fish around? Pretty interesting place to visit. I grow a chestnut selection that a friend spotted at the market there a few years ago and am waiting to see if it produces good quality nuts here.

we are starting to indulge with starbucks from time to time now that prices of houses are coming down.
it used to be that the only way to afford to own a house in Davis is to forego the starbucks coffee.
it did not went down from the first starbucks shop, it went phenomenally up from there, and it is slowly aging down just like most of these fad companies do and will still do. From time to time they would re-invent themselves to survive.
Yes, I saw the fishes, crabs, literally flying in the Pike Market place! But then again, for exactly the same wild species of fish, I wouldn't drive all the way to Washington and then pay the people selling the same kind of fish for ten times more than what I can get them for here in California's various nearby farmer's and very early morning fish markets and/or oriental stores. So, I only saw them and that was it, my kids took signs of the place... |

Hooray for me, I guess I have done TWO (2) things right in my life. First, I have never purchased anything from wall mart, and second, I have never purchased anything from Starbucks. Real men drink straight black coffee. - Millet |

I make better espresso than Starbucks whenever I can get my hands on authentic Philippine's Coffee Barako... The only coffee drink for real macho men!
(talking to wife already): Okay, here's that coffee you ordered my dear!!! |

Coffee is the second most traded commodity in the entire world - second only to petroleum. - Millet |

When buying coffee from a restaurant, it is the service you are paying for, not really the price of the coffee.
When you are buying the starbucks coffee beans from the likes of Costco, you are buying the name of the commodity, and still not the coffee.
Now when you are involved with trade just like Millet mentioned, you are buying coffee beans. And the bean counters audits them. |

Real men roast their own coffee beans and drink freshly roasted and freshly brewed black coffee.
I gave away plenty of my money foolishly to Starbucks but they will not get another dime with the kind policies they have. It has given me a good opportunity to learn more about coffee. A good site to check out beans, etc. is www.sweetmarias.com. The unfortunate thing is once I decide that I like a particular bean, everyone else has already figured it out and bought up the supply!
