It was nice for us to see Farve get sacked 2 times in a row Farve is a good quarter back but now he is so cocky & arrogant. He's been arguing w/ his coach & cries when he doesn't get his way. ESPN showed a clip this a.m. of Farve looking all upset at the coach when he told him what the next play should be. Farve did it the coaches way & they scored a Tdown. Then he started making his own calls & they lost --ha ha.
Packer fans loved him here but it made his head too big. Right after he went to MN he said in interview that Vikings is the best team he ever played with... just to rub salt in the wound. I hope next time he gets sacked, his arms get broken.
Woohoo, when the Bears won we were screaming! |
Your great Patty but give the guy a break. Brett Farve gave blood sweat and tears to ya'll in Wisconsin but it was the Packers that didn't want Brett Farve anymore when he wanted to come back. Why do ya'll turn on the guy so fast just cause he is playing for another team? Don't ya'll have a ounce of gratitude for what he gave to the Packers for all those years? It wasn't that Brett was trying to rub salt in the Packers fans wounds that is something every professional player says when they get traded to a new team. Anyway, good to see you around Patty. |

Thanks Mlover, I've been 'lurking' here but no time to write.
We did love & appreciate Farve but he left to retire. We wanted him back & then he couldn't decide so he got replaced. Then he went to Jets & we had starting draft pick - Packers picked Clay Mathews from Jets & now he's up for rookie of the year. Brett didn't do so good w/ Jets & he left them to retire AGAIN. Then he signed w/ Vikings. I didn't realize then that they are our biggest rival. We DID want him back but he wouldn't till too late. Rodgers already replaced him & he's doing very well. No one has topped his 4,000 yard seasons - not even Farve. _________________ Patty

Congratulations to the Crimson Tide for winning the national championship. It is a real shame that Texas's quarterback was injured so early in the game. It would have been a much more exciting and completive contest with both top notch quarterbacks competing. Texas almost pulled it off even with their back up true freshman quarterback. Actually, I would like to see all bowl games eliminated, and a playoff established to select the champion. Who knows, Boise State possibly could have beat either Alabama or Texas,(stranger things have happened) but they didn't have the opportunity to compete because of BCS selection rules. A proper playoff method would be fair to all contestants. - Millet (1,103-) |

Thanks Millet. Yes stranger things have happened but the problem i have and most of the population is that the selection process we have know you can't pick teams like Boise State over teams like Texas, Florida, or Alabama because they don't play anyone. When they start playing top notched teams like SEC teams then I will be the first to say let them play for a shot. People will never understand the power of the SEC until they play them week in and week out. I almost fell out of the chair laughing when I saw people on the news thinking that Cincinatii was going to beat Florida. Everyone has a punchers chance which is what happened to Alabama last year in the bowl game but 9 out of 10 times the outcome would have been different. SEC defences are absolute power houses. There is a reason why there are more players in the NFL from SEC teams than any other conferance. |

You are right morphinelover. SEC teams play 8 conference games, at most 2 of those are easy games. Of the outside opponents, there ia usually at least 1 with national standing. That level of competition can take it's toll and by the end of the season, the injuries can add up, much less the difficulty of staying up mentally for that many games.

Boy, am I ever sorry I said that! I never saw a quarterback get slammed so many times! Seems like the Saints were after Favre big time. I was feeling sorry for him.
What a exciting game it was...I wanted Saints to win. _________________ Patty
