Well.. that is what it looks like..
It has it's own song though.. doesn't sound like any of the sound files I could find on cowbirds.. But then thinking about it the songs it sings sounds like what I sing to it.. It makes a kissing sound when it wants attention.. but that is the sound I make when I try to get it's attention since day one.. and I cherp at it and it cherps back.. it is spoilt.. it is getting real good at flying around the house.. bad weather and too busy to take it out.. but since it is flying now I'm not sure I want to take it out to play.. I'll see if I can't borrow my mom's digital camera some time.. it takes very good videos.. see if I can't take a short video of it singing and making kissy sounds..
It is cute when it takes a bath.. and boy does it like to take baths.. it takes a bath and gives who ever is sitting close a shower.. LOL
It has pecked the cats nose.. the cat had it's nose up against the cage and the bird gave it a good pecking and the cat ran off and hid under hubbies chair for the rest of the night.. LOL
I attract freeloaders i guess.. kids.. pets... brother... brother inlaw... LOL

Thanks for the info..

I have sad news.. The bird passed away yesterday am..
We think it choaked on something that got in it's water dish.
It had convulsions after getting a drink.. I tried to calm it down and check it for injury, we didn't see the floating stuff in the water dish till after it was dead. It only lived just a minute or so after it had the convulsions. Hubby and I had been sitting on the couch enjoying it's am song so we were right on hand when it happened..
I miss it's chipper song already.. Sorry I never had my mom's camera long enough to tape it and share..
Thanks to everyone for their interest in it..

So sorry Gina. You took such good care of it all this time. Thanks for all the updates & pics from time you found him -- when he was hairless & ugly LOL.
Did you figure out what it was floating in water?

I am sorry Gina, you where such a nice mom to it. It is always difficult losing a animal that is close to you.

Thanks Patty, JustJoan and Valenciaguy..

Patty I honestly don't know what it was.. I did not clean the cage out.. I was so upset I went to my mom's to check on her Persimmon.. I just couldn't deal with the heart break.. Hubby Cleaned the cage and removed it while I was gone to help.. He said it looked like mini styrafoam balls.. Don't know how they would have gotten in the water dish though..
His happy song is very missed.. Ya had to smile when you hear his song..
Wish I could have shared it with you all..

Gina:

The baby bird lived for months because of your skillful care.
The little bird grew to enjoy life and sing to you.
We readers also were given joy by reading your posts.
So, joy was added to the world by your care of that little one.
