Hello. My name is Steve and I'm a new member of the citrus growers forum. Although I'm a novice with citrus trees, I have a pretty good "track record" with many types of plants. I have a few orchid species, a few cycad species, and a couple of cacti species, and all seem to be quite content in my care (or at least I'd like to think so).
As far as citrus plants go, I have a calamondin orange tree that is approximately five feet tall now and was raised from seed. It has been my guinea pig, and I am quite pleased that it's done quite well for me. So I've now gained enough confidence to branch out a little by ordering a few Bouquet de Fleurs orange trees and a Yuzu lemon (or whatever it might actually be, as I've found it listed online as a lemon, a lime and a hybrid of some other citrus-related species). All are growing on dwarf rootstock, so hopefully they will adapt well to my conservatory during the winter months and the blazing hot and humid back deck during the summer (as the "old veteran" calamondin has done).
I'm very much looking forward to learning more about citrus trees from everyone on this forum who will be kind enough to share their experiences (both good and bad) with me whenever my inevitable questions come up--probably as soon as all four trees arrive sometime in early September and I get a fun deer-in-the-headlights look when I open the packages and realize what I've done
