Takes a lot longer to do than T-budding, gives me no reason to try it on citrus. Will be worried about the strength of the graft if it would succeed in citrus. T-budding on the other hand produces very nice strong branches.

I've been doing a lot of this grafting since last week on my citrus and other plants. Will let you know in 30 days or more. Also this Majorcan graft. These grafts appeal to me because of easy way of doing it (for me that is) But what do I know?

It is some form of chip grafting.
Download this and it will tell you step by step how to do it.
I found it to be easier than T budding. My opinion. because the bud will stay on the cut when you get the tape to wrap it. It is also easy to to put the bud to the cut and alighned both sides.

Thanks for that link, Patty. That was very interesting and the pictures make it perfectly clear as to how the graft is performed. I must agree with one of the other posters though, it looks very time consuming and T budding is much faster! Still, I may try it on some pecans sometime when I have a free hour to spend! Wink
