No fun with no electricity for days or weeks & temps near 100 F & 100% humidity. Not to mention the damage. _________________ Wal-Mart a great place to buy cheap plastic crap ! http://walmartwatch.com/ ...

Luckily we don't get that kind of storms over here, although I would love to experience it once. But I agree, the problems it causes can't be fun at all!
We do have a period of nasty thunderstorms at the moment. Although not as severe as a hurricane, these too can cause severe damage. Four people got killed when a party tent blew over at a music festival here in Belgium during one of these storms. Nothing particularly special you might say; people get killed every now and then during thunderstorms, but the fact that it happened very local and exactly at the location of that music festival where thousands of people gathered together made it a hot news item. Maybe it's been in the news over there too... _________________ - Marc

Worst thing is if it hit NYC. Now they are completely unprepared. |

Well, here's to hoping most of the hurricane's energy is dissipated by the time it reaches the East Coast. I've known people that moved away from Florida to get away from hurricane's (had one friend with 2 different destroyed houses over 4 years). |

I worry about the hurricane risk if I move to Miami but we have many hurricanes here also. You can increase the strength of your home though and make it much less prone to hurricane damage. |
