I just bought 2 Actinidia arguta (hardy kiwi) females. Do I need an Actinidia arguta male to pollinate them or can they be pollinated by an Actinidia deliciosa (regular kiwi) male?

I grow Deliciosa only and have no experiance with Arguta, yet.
Here is what I have found searching web:

Positive:
http://www.diggers.com.au/pdf/articleHairlessKiwi.pdf
"The good news is that pollen from male A. deliciosa will pollinate most A. arguta varieties..."

Unknown (my comment: maybe self fertile variety which yield smaller fruits):
http://newpfaf.webhost4life.com/user/Plant.aspx?LatinName=Actinidia%20arguta
"I have two female and 1 male plants of actinidia arguta. Female ones flowered the first year, but not the male, and I could get fruit from them. Why is this possible? I have near some actinidia deliciosa males. Could those plants pollinate the actinidia arguta? Thanks."

Negative:
http://www.portkellsnurseries.com/?id=growingkiwi
"To insure fruit production, plant a male and a female of the same species. "

My conclusion based on above, if kiwi's (male & female) flower in the same time then answer to your question is 'possibly' positive.

And more:
http://www.luvnpeas.org/edibility/edible7.html
"...The pollinizer and pollinized may be different species, so long as their bloom-times overlap; hardy and fuzzy kiwis pollinate each other well, but arctic beauty blooms about two weeks earlier than the others..."

Similar information I got in private corespondence with Jan (Nokal, forum member) which is Kiwi expert.

Finaly and shortly,
the answer depends on bloom-times of yours Arguta and Deliciosa cultivars.

That answers my question perfectly, much appreciated! I'll wait untill the argutas are in bloom and then search the nurseries to see wich deliciosa's are in bloom at the same time.
