Hi

I bought some oranges from a store and they were labelled as Navel Late from Spain.

Searching the web I found that Navel Late is the best orange in taste and sweetness and it is a mutation of a Wash. Navel.

Also found another name that sound similar to what I have , Lanes Navel Late ... which I found not to be so good as people said

so , are there 2 varieties of a Late Navel ?

Thanks

I too brought home some Navel Late oranges yesterday, and I noticed the Lane Lates also. The Navel Late is good, very sweet, but to my taste there isn't enough acid (I would almost say none at all...).

Here's a list of late navel oranges:

Valencia Late (going off-topic now... Embarassed ) is also starting to appear. It's about time as until recently the juicing oranges on the market were all Salustiana, which are completely tasteless by now and (I think) way out of season.

That is not to say the Valencias are tasting great... I already juiced 2 bags of 3kg valencias. The juice of the first bag tasted good. The juice of the second bag was watery and rather tasteless... I will do another bag this mornig. I hope it will be good, otherwise I'm done with juicing for this season! Laughing

Blood oranges are gone now (still available in some places but not where I normally buy my oranges). That's a real pity. The Spanish Sanguinelli were my favorites, their taste was superb!

Yep the taste is the same but I like it that way

Looking at the website you posted I see nothing similar , mine do not have te second fruit , as all navel do.

And those are not from Spain , so that is why maybe is something new

I collected few seeds for test , they are big size compare to lemon seeds.

thanks
