Does anybody have experience with rooting Aloe Vera from cuttings? I've seen a few sites say that you can root cuttings from the leaves, others say that you have to use the pups.

I'm sure there are some folks with experience in Aloe on this forum. Any help out there?

Thanks!

Tim

Never heard of rooting from the leaves, I suppose it could be done. Maybe air layering might be a choice. I have 2 huge aloes in pots and they just keep pupping and pupping. Same thing with my Agaves, I am going to have to re-pot again this year to separate all the pups...WANT SOME... Think I have about 30 right now and it pups again during the summer.

I read once that you want to air-callous cuttings for several days to avoid rotting.

Maybe something like sand and a mist tent? I havent had great luck with cuttings, but I havent tried very hard. Good luck!
