Does anyone know if feeding citrus to chickens is detrimental? I started cutting up the grapefruit from my 150 trees that would otherwise rot and started feeding it periodically to the chickens to help with my 20 dollars per week spent on chicken feed. Some websites say that the acid in citrus effects their egg shell production, but none of mine are laying yet, so I'm not concerned about that. Just concerned about any health effects.
