I'll post this mostly for you Betty Wink and hopefully it'll be a good idea for someone else.
I'm using a big blanket bag with a heating pad under (set at low). I don't use the heating pad as of 3 weeks ago - they are up & growing well. These are mostly 8 oz dixie cups - all seeds planted in soil & germinated in there. About 60 seedlings here in all.
Notice the wood skewers to keep lid off leaves.

Here it is zipped W/ a 26 watt compact fl. (equiv. to 100 watts) centered over top-not touching.

Light is on a timer from 9 till 8. The foil over top reflects a lot more light inside.

It's not real pretty but it works...and they are healthy w/ only 25 watt light!
These are not good pics, but they really are all very green!

thanks for sharing that.

technically, I have a similiar set up... I just use a light partical dresser drawer for my "blanket bag" opened dresser drawer, heat souirce underneather and plastic covering. It keeps it nice and warm and it gets lots of light... been using a small grow light I bought, not sure of the wattage right now... its in the other room.

My seedlings seem to likeit. they are all growing well and seem to be happy. The roots are growing incredibly well so... keep using this method for my lime babies.

I'll look into purchasing a heating pad and a blanket bag... (need a new comforter anyways... great reason to get one now... my seeds need a home!.... who really cares that "I" need something!)

thanks again for sharing the pics... I can wait till my seedlings reach a size like that. How old are your seedlings in the pics? Mine are now at 4 weeks since planting and are on aver 1/2" to 1 1/2 inch tall. Is that good? Some of my newer spouts are only a week since planting and are just as big. Thats when I added more bottom heat. Definatly notice the difference the second I got the bottom heat.

Yes, my friend Citrus Joe sent me several fruits that I can't get here inc. the ponderosa & Rangpur lime & yuzu etc. Some didn't have seed & the yuzu didn't want to sprout. I got the P. Trifoliate at expo, and Ned sent me the Flying dragon seeds (cool plants!).
Thanks Joe & Ned
Meiwa's came from my own tree fruits & others were store bought.
