I am curious. I have two variegated trees(pink lemon and Centennial Kumquat), only one that fruits year after year. The other doesnt like the cold here in East Central Florida. Do they have different requirements? While I have to trim back the fruit on the kumquat(it makes way too many) it doesnt seem to be really growing. Any ideas about different treatment from standard citrus?

The only difference between a variegated tree, and a non-variegated tree (one that produces fully green leaves) is the quantity (amount), of energy that each leaf is capable of producing through photosynthesis for the use and benefit of the tree. Non-variegated trees are capable of producing much more energy (food) per tree. - Millet

Millet gives a great definition and yes variegated specimens are usually regarded as "flashy" or "showy". I believe Laaz has the largest variegated citrus collection in the world ! Tom
