Hi!

This is regarding T-budding fruit trees such as pears, peaches, etc.

After you cut the bud from the scionwood, and part of the wood came off with the bud, do you pull off (or peel off) the woody part from the back of that bud? Or do you just leave it and insert the whole thing into the host? Would that damage the cambium if you peel it off?

It is best to just leave it. Peeling it only waste time and invites contamination.
