Hi jjp. Many grafts will bloom the first year. I usually pull the flower buds off for the first three years to allow growth.

Thank you Laaz. I will do that. Very Happy

For the moment I can see flower buds on a sour orange (variegated Wink ), and several trovita, cara cara, and tangelo minneola. No flower buds on all my medica's trees. Does it mean that some species doesn't bloom easily the first year ? Or, It's only because medica is slower to start to grow in spring ?

My medica's seem to need more heat to get going. Medica also flower throughout the year like lemons, so they may still produce flower buds this year.

My Variegated Ponderosa lemon & variegated Etrog are both flowering for the first time.

My Tiger navels are loaded with flower buds, but only about a foot tall. Also my variegated Cara Cara's I budded from JoeReal's budwood last spring is also loaded up with flower buds. I will remove all of the flowers to allow the plants to get some size.
