Hi. I'm new to this forum and I am pleased to find there's a wealth of information here from "seasoned" growers.
I just acquired four new lemon trees, 2 Meyer (LOVE Meyer lemons!), 1 Eurka and 1 Sambo. The Meyer and Eureka trees are still small, about 2 feet high. The Sambo is about 5 feet tall...it's lovely and full.
I live in Zone 7 and will be overwintering them indoors, of course. I got a lot of tips from the experts (who own trees themselves) at the nursery where I purchased them. Well learned. They've been in business for 40 years.
I understand that they like to be fed fertilizer, and need it at least once a month. How about during the time when they're putting out fruit...flowering? I have the fertilizer that is recommended for citrus, but I also have a solution to mix with water to foliar feed them, hearing they also like to receive nutrients through the leaves.
Anyway, I'm entirely new to this. I'm crazy about citrus and am thrilled to have some trees of my own this year.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Steve
