What is the expected rate of success in rooting clementine cuttings? How does it compare relative to lemon cuttings which have a high success rate?

Lemons root very easy. Mandarins are a bit harder, but can be done. Get a good rooting hormone & don't keep the soil very wet & you have a good chance.

If you have a mist system, the success rate should be 90%+, if you use the bag method, and use a sterile container, and sterile rooting medium, plus a rooting hormone the success rate should be about 40-50 percent. A while back I accidentally broke a small piece of a branch off of a kumquat. As I was leaving the greenhouse, I just used my finger to make a hole and stuck the little branch directly into the ground. To my surprise, the branch has remained healthy and very green. I have not checked for any roots. - Millet

Thanks for the responses. So chances are fair without the use of fancy equipment. That's encouraging.

Yes they are. I don't use anything but rooting hormone. I take about 8-10 cuttings dip in rooting hormone, stick them in a community pot with regular potting mix & keep the mix damp & in the shade. Do not leave them in direct sun. Also when I make cuttings, I cut the stem at a 45 degree angle.
