If the budwood is long enough, you could T-bud a bud or two, and then root the budwood, (provided there are still buds left on the stick.) - Millet

Laaz stated there are certain kinds that root easier than others. I am thinking Centennial Kumquats.

Today, 2007/01/26, I cleaned out the vegetable crisper
in my refrigerator, where I had stored my cuttings.
On Saturday, I am going to the Orange County CRFG
scion exchange in the Silo building on the Fairgrounds.
So I needed the room. Out with the old.

Wait a minute. In a zip lock bag with a moist paper towel,
pieces of Malus pumila, "Beverly Hills" apple had roots!
It is dated 2005/03/08.

I rinsed the cuttings and soaked them under water for
a quarter of an hour and then potted them up under
a thin vegetable bag to keep in moisture.

Don't give up.
