Swingle considered the Otaheite as a hybrid of the lemon with a mandarin, which would make it a lemandarin. Webber considers the Otaheite to be a hybrid of a lime x mandarin. The true parentage cannot be determined without careful genetic analysis. As Sylvain writes above, it can be propagated very freely from cuttings. - Millet (1,372-)

Barrie, I have two Ventura Lemandrins, that I grew from seed, taken from a fruit that Gaylord Ventura was nice enough to give me . The Ventura Lemandarin was developed by Gaylord. Mine also bloomed in the very first year, but unfortunately the bloom did not produce a fruit. I hope to receive fruit next spring in the trees 2nd year. - Millet (1,269-)
