I have my Harvey lemon in my cool house for the winter, and it has been attacked by scale. Any thoughts on how to control it?

Bonnie is correct --- UltraFine Horticultural oil. You can find UltraFine at most Home Depots, and garden centers. Make a solution of 1 percent oil /99 percent water. Spray early in the morning, or at dusk. Never spray during the heat of the day. Spray both sides of the leaves, and all twigs and trunk. - Millet (1,080-)

Thanks for the information. Oil was my first thought but I just needed some confirmation.

Hi all, I live in Switzerland, Europe, can't find this UltraFine Hort Oil anywhere, even on ebay.com, I see Parafiune hort oil, can anyone recommend this?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PARAFINE-Horticultural-Oil-Parafinic-98-Scale-Pint-/360124364262?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item53d915b5e6#ht_1302wt_905

I would gladly pay for the shipping to Europe, just to get rid of these pesky little scales!!

Thanks

Unfortunately it seems that Ultra Fine Hort. Oil is no longer manufactured. Volk Horticultural Oil, a long time oil for citrus is also another good oil to use. I've never heard of the Parafine, so I cannot say for sure how safe, nor how good it is. However, it is probably OK to use. Spray a small part of a tree to test it. With any horticultural oil spray only early in the morning or near night. Never spray during the heat of the day. - Millet (511-)
