Hi,
I've been fertilizing my citruses with a fertilizer that contained 0.06% Fe and I haven't had any problems with iron deffiency, but now I bought one that contains 0.03% Fe. Will it be too litte? |

I would assume that it states the mass of iron chelate, which contains 13% iron, so in such case the fertilizer would contain ~0.026 pure iron. |

Now I can not find it anymore , but I was using this mixed with the 23-6-10 from Scotts (Everris now)
This one have 0.16% Fe in it.
Now I've got a 0,20 % Fe , a fertilizer for azalea , gardenia , ....acid lovers , and mix it with the 23-6-10-3Mg0 from Scotts , from time to time , to add some acidity back and to add some Iron too.
Hope it helps.

I had always been using "Substral" fertilizer for citrus, except it was in a different bottle, and mine was NPK 6-4-6...
And here it says that the fertilizer you've shown is also 6-4-6
The new, 0.03% Fe, fertilizer, also "Substral" is 6-1-5, and your, 0.16% Fe, was 23-6-10 which is about four times more concentrated, which means you'd have to dilute it more. |

I don't know about the new one , but the same bottle as shown in the picture had or have 0,16% Iron , so why should I dilute it since the producer said to use the regular dose of it
And had some green leaves too.
Universol 23-6-10 from scotts have only 0,06% Iron so it is weak on Iron feeding.

Because if it is a NPK 23-6-10 fertilizer with 0.16% iron you would have to use 1.07 ml of it per 1 litre of water in order to fertilize your citrus at 250ppm nitrogen, and with this amount you would automatically put in ~0.2g of iron into every litre of water ("~" because it depends on the density of the fertilizer, I calculated using 1.2g/ml). Now if you use NPK6-4-6 0.06%Fe you would have to use 4.11ml/l for 250ppmN and you would put ~0.3g/l of Iron (again fertilizer density 1.2g/ml).
So to conclude 0.16% of iron in a NPK23-6-10 fertilizer is less than 0.06% of iron in a NPK6-4-6 fertilizer |
