I received some sionwood from the buddinman and skeeter this winter and i have grafted them to my native ones that are growing wild here. Most grafts were barkgrafts as illustrated in the forum . I have much better takes than before. I'm in zone 6b/7 and started grafting april8-10 and again on april 27 which was a better date for slipping. I change the procedure a bit by only lifting one side of the bark and adding a slanting cut on the opposite side of the first slanting cut on the sionwood. the second slanting was only a 1/4" long, than match the sion to the rootstock side that is not lifted. What i have found was that the take is much faster to my surprise. My grafts are all around 14" tall. Thank you guys! Bob.
