Doing my early summer tree trimming & found this guy up in one of my palms. He must have impaled himself on the wicked thorns over the winter. Shocked

Squirrels are a real pain in the ass as they dig up everything & plants seeds everywhere.

Is that a carnivorous palm? I'll take 10 for my garden please. Do they get rid of pigeons too? Laughing

It was a morbidly satisfiying sight to see as you pointed it out to me when I visited last weekend. Thanks for the delicious Duncan grapefruits! I'd either leave it up there as a sign for other critters to stay out of your yard or make a hat out of it like Daniel Boone and wear it around while working in the yard hanged

You're lucky that you don't have actual roof rats. Trust me, they take a liking to citrus and make quick work of citrus fruit.

Two good places for squirrells, in a frying pan or a cook pot.

Eeew. Shocked But, as ecker said, better than tree rats, which we have out here, and they are SO destructive. I've noticed this year that I have had a significant decrease (for the 1st time in 4 years) with ground squirrels and roof rats. Imagine my surprise when I found this in my Have-a-Heart rabbit trap! Turns out many of my neighbors are seeing these little guy in our yards this year, and they are extremely good at catchinng rodents, especially pocket gophers, ground squirrels and roof rats! This one is a female, so she has a den either in my yard or very near my yard, which makes me a very happy camper. She was NOT happy about being in the trap, so we gave he a wide berth when we opened the trap. They are wicked quick and very brave little animals for their size. Reminds me of a wolverine, on a much smaller scale, ready to take on my younger Aussie, who was salivating at the side of the trap (he went in the house, of course). Everyone should have one of these in their yard:

I did not know there were weasels in the San Diego area. That is righteous. As entertaining as a squirrel collecting a Darwin Award.
