Do you ever lose this exciting feeling with citrus? Maybe after a lifetime of doing veggies... its just not the same. I just look forwards to so much with my citrus... purchasing them next month preparing the growing medium, experiennting...

I am growing meiwa and nagami kumquats , meyer lemon, pomegranate, and I'd like to try limes from seeds. I use an old yogurt maker, which keeps seeds at 70 degrees. It works great. I use a turkey baster to water drops. I also found even water to be key. Too much leads to rotting, too little, the seeds don't sprout..

Even some seed of Nagami and Calamondin that I had given up on ended up sprouting! Im glad I didnt throw them all away. just tossed some in other pots as I was giving up on the heated arrangement I had.

If you give them long enough time, theyll come up on their own. I tried the baggie method and either cooked (hot old big monitor), or stewed (too much moisture) some of my seeds Sad

My key lime from seed is just beautiful. its taller than my older calamondin.

wow... just amazed at how large my key lime babies are now. Will try and poist pics later. need to get enough light to take a pic. nice gloomy day here Sad They are all above 2 inches now, most on their 2nd or 3rd set of leaves. I keep looking at Millets key limes @ 2 years of age... with total amazement. Just hard to believe mine will ever get that big. granted, growing themn in canada, less than ideal growing conditions... I'm giving it aanother year or 2 before mine will be that size. Still... hoping with the soon aproaching summer, that they'll go through amazing growth with the heat and light.

one of the plants, has actually grown its first thorn. sharp little bugger. still nice and tiny, think my last "run in" with it, I knocked it off. was less than 1/5 of an ice but nice and sharp.
