Hey there. I own a cafe' down here in New Zealand and we go thru literally heaps of coffee grounds each day. I've started putting bags of the spent coffee grinds around the citrus patch as i heard that its like a poor mans fertilser. I have noticed it does get mould growth on the top so i sprinkle over with a little compost or dirt to cover. It would be great to use this used coffee for something rather than chucking it in the rubbish.
Any comments anyone???

Coffee grounds, could be beneficial to in ground trees. Used coffee grounds are normally reported to have a pH of around 5.5, but Starbucks reports that most of the acidity is removed in the brewing process, leaving used grounds with an average PH of 6.9 (almost neutral) with a carbon-nitrogen ratio of 20-1. Ground coffee supplies about 1.5 percent nitrogen, 2 percent potassium and 3 percent magnesium. However, using grounds in a container might be difficult to incorporate into the soil, and would tend to wash aside with watering. - Millet
