Well, for one, you can help us edit very offensive posts such as those unsolicited type of posting and personal attacks. Debates are very much welcome and we should help the various discussions focus on the issues no matter how disagreeable those arguments are with what we know, as long as those statements do not involve personal attacks, but when we can sense direct attacks on the person, those should be censored. |

I just want to thank all of you. I could not do this all myself. When I started this forum just over a year ago I never thought it would grow this quickly. Everyone has a different background with great experience growing citrus. I feel lucky to have found such a great team of people.
Thanks again, Laaz |

Gina:
The reason why I have healthy plants is because of these good guys who advice me here before.
I took it to heart so it's time to give something back.
And thanks for your compliment.

People forget that the most important area we are remiss
about too much of the time is the need just to talk about
plants. Even newbies can pick up on something about a
plant that some of us that have grown for years may have
overlooked or have taken for granted. Sometimes, what
may at first glance seem to be the simplest of questions
can be the toughest to answer regarding plants. Getting
views out into the open does require some panache (if
only one of us here at Snickles would ever learn to be
diplomatic) at times, as some people can get rather
defensive when a written comment from them comes
back at them but the people that are not afraid to be
wrong are the ones we relate to the best. For us
being wrong about something we thought we knew
just gives us a better realism of the plant or an aspect
of it that we may not have had right and this is what
we welcome.
It does not matter what a person feels they know as long
as they realize what they do not know well yet. There
comes a time when perhaps now some of the information
in this forum may not have much meaning to some of us
at present, as to where we are now in Citrus and what we
are currently doing with Citrus. Yet later, when our interests
expand more, some of the information posted in this forum
can become rather invaluable for us. It would not happen
if people did not allow themselves to go ahead and post
information of what they know or openly write their own
views and share what they are seeing from these plants.
First hand knowledge of these plants to us here at Snickles
is more important than the written material can be much of
the time. We need to know personal accounts of what others
are seeing in their plants, what they have learned from others
and have learned on their own. The people that show the
greatest amount of interest and enthusiasm in a forum are
the real driving force behind the forum.
I doubt that Gina and Benny were delegated Moderator
positions due solely to their good looks, this came about
because they have shown they have a genuine interest in
these plants and have conveyed a desire to help others
with their well received and warmly regarded posts in
this forum.

Benny and Gina:
Thank you both in advance for your work.
It is the work of the moderators,
constantly removing spam and spammers, and
politely reminding a participant in an overheated
discussion to "cool it, dude" that makes a forum
useful for us readers. _________________ Tom Mortell |
