The Crocston I planted on South side of my house in flower bed this spring has not grown at all. It's like it is frozen in time. There are little green buds but they won't grow out. I've fertilized it with miracle grow water soluble acid fertilizer because leaves were a little yellowish after spider mite infestation in spring. Mites are gone after the dormant oil treatment in spring/ late winter. Everything else citrus is growing. It is grafted on PT and is about 1 ft high. Think it was grafted last year. Looks healthy otherwise. Any suggestions?

I think you are referring to "Croxton" Grapefruit ? It will grow - when its ready. I have found that trees grafted on to trifoliate orange tend to take their sweet time sending out their flushes.

I assume the tree is in the ground ?

Be sure to protect the tree when your temperature drops in the winter - it wont survive a 7b winter.

Thanks for the response. The grapefruit is in ground on south side of house, and yes I plan on protecting it with wire cage and plastic ventilated green house rig like my other hardy citrus in winter. My new Meiwa kumquat on PT is growing like a weed and is planted 10 feet away on same day as Crocston GF. Thanks again.

My crocston finally started growing two weeks ago and now has three or more inches of new growth. About a month ago I dug it up and replaced soil and turned it 90 degrees. Never seen a plant take a whole growing season to wake up before. Wierd.

I'm glad to hear it's growing again. I'm not sure what the cause was??
