This is one fruit on my Owari Satsumas that looks more like a vegetable pear with the bumps and creases all over it. All of the other fruit are normal and much larger. What could cause this?

I hate to bring up this ugly thing again, but it has me totally dumbfounded. It was the last fruit that I picked off the tree and I nearly threw it away. It developed in size to a point just 2/3 the size of the other fruit. The peal was much thicker than any Owari that I have seen, but what an unusual taste. The only way that I can describe it is like an intense, sweet tangelo. Have you guys experienced anything like this? If I had a source for a tree that produced the taste of this fruit, I would plant it.

From looking at the picture I'd say it has scab. Some satsumas are bad for getting it. One of my trees does. I was advised to spray just before blossom time with neutral copper then once again when the fruit are about pea sized. I haven't had a chance to try it yet as my trees got zapped in a bad freeze the next year so no fruit.

I believe that fruit has citrus scab. A third spraying when the fruit is about the size of a quarter shold help

Thanks for the diagnosis. For a while I thought that it had some kind of genetic deformity. I’ll give it a shot of kocide.
