The leaves look a healthy green, but the tips look burnt. A few of my plants did this when we had that scorching heat in July.

It does need fertilizing to grow well, but my question was due to the brown tips of the leaves-- I thought it might be salt accumulation on the leaves-- either from fertilizer or minerals in the water.

With citrus leaf tip burn the tree has one of two problems 1.) Over watering, or more likely 2). high soluble salts. When you water the tree do you water it well enough so that approximately 15 to 20 percent of the irrigation water that you pour on to the soil, drains out the bottom of the container. Doing so will leach out the soluble salts. Soluble salts are built up over time from fertilizers and also from the irrigation water, particularly if you have hard water. - Millet
