Hi,

I'm new to this forum but enjoying it thoroughly. I thank you very much for this wealth of info and experiences.

I think I have done an "oops" and may need to remedy soon. I've done a search but have not found an answer to my question.

Must the newer seedless varieties be planted just among themselves? I remember being told that the Kishu when planted should be segregated from the seeded citrus; otherwise it will develop seeds. So, we planted the Kishu on its own.

We have a grove of 15 seeded citrus on the back of our property. Early spring added 2-3 year old Yosemite and Tahoe Gold to it. Still have Shasta and Gold Nugget in containers to add to it. Is this a mistake? Should the Nuggets be removed?

We have other areas on property with groups of seeded citrus. Can the Blood Oranges be added to a group or should they be segregated? How would they do on a hillside amongst avocados and nuts?

I don't want to be a container gardener forever. Need to get the rest of the citrus (at least) in the ground. Advice?

Your TDE trees, the Tahoe Gold, Shasta Gold (etc.) and the Gold Nugget trees will not develop seeds with cross pollination. Those released by the UC Riverside program (as above) are seedless genetically - not by exclusion. Afourer (W. Murcott) and all the Clementine cultivars will develop seeds in proximity to other citrus, for instance.
