Lazz,
I don't know about that exact formulation, but the active ingredient is imidacloprid which is the same thing that is in Bayer Advanced Garden Tree and Shrub found at most garden centers.

Try this link to sunshine gardens http://stores.ebay.com/Sunshine-Gardens
It is under the brand name of Merit and I think it's the same product. Bayer does not approve their tree and shrub for bearing citrus.
This stuff is expensive Shocked

Yes i see that. We don't have many honey bees here though. I am going to test it on some tree's next year & see how well it works.

I tried the Bayer tree and shrub this year and it did absolutely nothing to stop the leaf miner. I used it on young trees since I was going to remove the fruit anyway. The results were disappointing and expensive. The main ingredient in the Bayer tree and shrub is imidicloprid , but maybe the application rate for admire is different

Karpes,
I'm glad you told me about the Bayer tree and shrub not working-- I was about to try it. I wonder if timing or soil has anything to do with the effectiveness.

Skeeter
I followed the instructions exactly and applied the Bayer tree and shrub in early March. I think that it takes a couple of months to be absorbed by the tree and it is supposed to last twelve months. I began to see leaf miners a couple of months later and they were increasing until I started using the spinsosad . I am now spraying the spinsosad every 10-14 days while the new flushes are emerging. The spinsosad works but I have found that you have to time it just right to gain control. As you mentioned Skeeter, the residual is very short on spinsosad.
Maybe Santa clause will bring me a quart of Agrimek or Floramek for Christmas if I behave myself. This is the product that the citrus farmers use around here for leaf miner.

Hi Karpes,
If a quart is way more than you need maybe we could split it -- Lazz too if he is interested.-- Skeet

I am trying to negotiate with one of the farmers to purchase a small amount. I will let you know how it goes. The floramek can be found on ebay for $230 per quart, but I am trying to get a better price. Floramek contains the same ingredient ( abermectin) that agrimek has. It’s expensive but 2 ounces makes 50 gallons of mixed spray. Here’s the ebay link
