what have you all done to me?

I am cut off! really!

After this order, ill have figs, raspberry, cranberry, blueberry, citrus x 10, and banana. Phew. oh, and a papaya from seed. its still small but I can dream. Ive also got the standard melons trying in the garden, but those are just annuals.

WHEE! any new banana owner hints?

Congratulations!

The Super Dwarf Cavendish is more of an ornamental rather than a fruiting plant though, based on my experience.

It is cold sensitive and could die out and never return if planted in the ground in your zone, so it must be potted and dragged indoors during the winter.

I've read that it would bloom after 50 leaves or so. I kept it for 5 years, growing indoors during the winter and taking out every spring. After more than 500 or more leaves (lost track), there never was a bloom. I left it to die during one winter, and good riddance! It has been composted. For the surviving pups that came out that spring, I gave them all away to friends. I think it has infinite number of leaves before it decides to bear fruit and I don't have a lifetime to wait it out.

But if you want it as ornament or to be grown in a greenhouse, it is a superb plant.

Thanks for the heads up Joe, but its a bit of a disappointment!

I was buying a blueberry to replace the cute but not long surviving ones that I got bare-root earlier in the season. It was on sale.

Are there any bananas that produce that are smaller than 6' or so?

I forgot one- Ive now got a pineapple crown planted. The seeds havent sprouted yet, theyre in a moist baggie of coir dust.
