I just got some Ageniaspis citricola! I hope they have a feast on my CLM. One of the researchers that works at Univ. of Florida sent me a vial of 60 and at least 1/2 of them were still alive.

These are the predators that were first imported from Australia in 1994. They have spread through much of the commercial citrus growing areas, but I have not been able to find any here. Based on the rate of CLM infestation they must not be any anywhere near here.

I just got another batch of 89, but 40 were DOA. I hope these get established and cut down on the pest!

I also posted a link on citrus leaf miners on the "Links" forum.

I think my release of Ageniaspis in this area has been successful. I have seen a few small insects that I think are Ageniaspis Citricola landing on my citrus trees, but the real evidence to me is the fact that I got several similar small insects that hatched out in a 2 liter clear plastic bottle after I put several infected leaves in it. Another bit of evidence is the much reduced leaf miner pressure on my citrus trees. I do not believe that they were here before the release, as I had looked for them and I had put infected leaves in a bottle and seen only citrus leaf miner moths hatch.

I am sure that they would eventually have spread to this area, but I think the release I made has gotten them established years earlier than they would have otherwise.
