This is very
PERSONAL. Kyleigh is 3 months younger than my son Joshua. She was born in June 2003. Her cancer was found when she was playing with her Dad. He was tickling her when he felt a lump in her belly area and that was on 1/18/06. She was diagnosed the next day with Wilms' Tumor (http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/wilmstumor.html). Luckily she only had it in one kidney and not both. So now only has one kidney, and has been going through the course of cancer treatment. She has been too sick at times to go through some of the treatment and initially she was only given a 5% chance of surviving. She later increased that to 25% of surviving. She is not out of the woods yet. It has been a year now since she was diagnosed. It breaks my heart. She literally went from having a tickle fight with Daddy to having emergency surgery the next night. She never had any symptoms and if it were not for that tickle fight, who knows what may have happened.
I have known this family for almost 17 years and they very are dear to me. When I was told about her diagnosis it was like someone told me it was my own child and if I felt that way, and it was not my child, I can only imagine what they felt.
Make a wish foundation sent Kyleigh and her Mom and Dad to Disney in January 2007. She is such a delightful girl and it is devistating that she has such a disease. It tears me to the very core that any child has to go through anything like this. It is bad enough when an adult has to go through it.
I am asking everyone to donate $1.00 (more is always welcome). It won't hurt, but it
WILL help. Remember that saying "Every penny counts"?!!! Well it is very true. If you do not wish to donate online for whatever reservations you may have about online transactions I have no problem with that. Checks work just as well. I would ask that you write and checks to "Jimmy Fund Walk". Of, course you may also send me a money order, (please make it payable to Jimmy Fund Walk) and don't forget to keep the receipt copy for your records.

Please just think that someday the money you donate today will help someone that touches your life in some way, whether it is a family member; a friend; a friend of a friend that you only know of because of a conversation with your friend or someone you work with. Just think what the donations could total if EVERYONE donate $1.00.
Furthermore, just think what the total could really get up to if everyone passes the word around. That would be spectacular support for everyone.
