This one took 10 years from seed to make a fruit!

Unfortuntely it is not an ichangensis - ichangensis has very large winged petioles, just like the leave in shape.
this only may be a chance hybid of ichangensis with interesting fruit quality.

Well, for one thing, it is a parent of several tasty hybrids including the yuzu, sudachi, and kabosu. See http://users.kymp.net/citruspages/papedas.htm for more info.

It's also very hardy for a citrus.

Confused You are right it surely cannot be C.ichangensis.
I had the seeds from China by a fellow who collects seeds from the wild in China-but it was sold under that name so I was blind to belive it was true.
The seeds could be some leftovers from his Gin and Tonic with Lime!
You lears a few things from now and then.

I didn't notice till the other day from reading a article but Ichang Papeda is monoembryonic so that explains the theory that it is a Ichang hybrid.

Here is the mature fruit.
It is rather sour and the seeds are 1cm long.
As I mentioned the seeds were from China and I am interested in knowing if it is a species.
