I live in the humid south in Central Florida. We have the greening issue in full swing, I personnally do not and there are no orange groves within 5 or six miles or so, so I would rather it not start. I have a bunch of citrus trees. I also have very sandy soil with a high water line, high as in I can dig off the hill my house is built on(6foot above standard level) and go down three feet and hit water. Needless to say, fertilizer doesnt stay for long in the rainy season.

Now onto the questions.
- What is a good general fertilizer for citrus trees that covers most if not all the micro nutrients needed? Trying to cut down on the various bags I have lying in my garage.

-What is the preferred folliar spray for citrus trees?

-What kind of spray or powder is good for diseases and pests? Some of my older trees have mass amounts of leaf miners and stuff like that, plus while I can easily pluck them off my smaller trees, getting rid of those big snakehead caterpillers off a big tree is next to impossible. My nursery guy recommends the Bayer stuff that the trees absorb. I tried it on my bigger tree and I cant say I see a difference as I added it a couple weeks ago and pulled a huge one off yesterday.

Really, is it too hard to answer a question on fertilizer and/or sprays that most of you use? The internet is almost useless and most of what I pull up is crap for potheads growing their own stuff. Any foliar sprays I find online do not post what the chemical analysis of their product is.

I currently have half a dozen bags of different specialized fertilizer in my garage and I want to reduce that down. I need a Zinc specific foliar spray or a spray with a decent amount of zinc in it(I discovered that my area is very susceptable to zinc deficiency and I see it in the leaves now that I know what to look for).

So what do you guys use?

In areas where there is enough water to quickly leach away any fertilizers shortly after application is made, the use of a slow release fertilizer should fix the problem. There are slow release fertilizers with various release times, from two months to as long a 9 months. Slow release fertilizers will not be leached away rapidly no matter the amount of rain. One of the most applied insecticide sprays used on citrus trees in Florida are Horticultural Oils. The mix rate is 1 percent oil to 99 percent water. It controls the big four: aphids, scale, mealy bug white fly.. As for leaf miners, type "leaf Miners" into the search link above, and you will find a LOT of information. A foliar spray of one teaspoon of STEM per gallon water will give a tree all of its trace mineral requirement. Most fertilizers can also be used as foliar sprays when applied at 10 percent of the ground rate printed on the bag. As for zinc, you can use Zinc Sulfate, or see if you can locate a zinc chelate either on the Internet or at nurseries or big box stores. - Millet

What is STEM? I did a google search didnt come up with much relating to agriculture.

Got some zinc sulfate powder on order, I was looking for an actual spray and not a powder to make spray liquid with.

Cant use oils til the temp drops a bit, we are still in mid 90s here.

Tropheus

STEM = Soluble Trace Element Mix

Zinc sulfate is highly water soluble, so you will not have any issues making a liquid spray with it.

Regarding foliar sprays, many people use Foliage Pro from Dyna-Gro http://dyna-gro.com
The chem analysis is listed on their website.

Good luck w/ your trees
