I picked this up from the local supermarket the other day. The pulp was huge and came off of the peel like a satsuma. The size is about the same as an average grapefruit. Didn't really taste very good, but it was different. The label mentions it is a product of Jamaica if that helps at all with the ID.

I thought the same but aren't they usually green and don't color up real well as what is shown in the picture when they are grown in the real hot climates like the caribbean area?

there is a tangelo that looks similar to this called alemoen but it taste way better than the ugli fruit. grown in a cooler climate the unique/ugli fruit would probably be better.
