I don't understand why so many people want to try to bud/graft with substitutions for real grafting tape. I like the 4 mil but have used 8 mil in a pinch but didn't like it as well. I do a few hundred buds a year. Last time I got grafting tape I sent out a few rolls to forum members. I just got in 12 300 foot rolls of tape from Womacks nursery, way more than I need. You can do more than 300 t-buds with one roll. http://www.womacknursery.com/item30.htm I will mail a roll to whoever wants one for what I paid plus postage. I paid $2.50 delivered to my house and postage is about $1.50 or $2.00. Send me a private message if you want a roll

I'm with MrTexas. I tried using Teflon tape when I was learning to graft. It wasn't till I bought some grafting tape that I had success.
I'm sure Teflon can be used. But if you are new to grafting I would use grafting tape.
