And how can they move that heavy to the showroom? Unbeleivable.

I saw a thing about growing giant pumpkins on PBS in my area, they move those pumpkins around with forklifts after they are put on pallets, they also use giant slings and cranes to weight/transfer them very carefully.

Atlantic Giant is the only pumpkin variety to ever win a world championship. Growers of world class pumpkins sell the seeds, which are sought after by other hobby pumpkins growers looking to also produce an extra large specimen. Generally the seed sells for $10.00 per each seed. A 1000 pound plus pumpkin can have many hundreds of seeds. Last year seed from the then world champion pumpkin went for as much as $!35.00 for one seed in a charity auction. However, a seed from a world class pumpkin does not guarantee that the seed will produce a similar size pumpkin. The skill of the grower is the determining factor as to the eventual size.
