I have some lemons with sooty mould on their skins

are these safe to use as juicing lemons? I was thinking of using as marmalade lemons but probably wont because of the look of the skin.

The sooty mould was caused by the honeydew released from soft scale insects.

Some of my lemons have lots of sooty mold and it does not effect the taste. It is safe to use lemons with sooty mold. Rinse your lemons with warm water to remove it before juicing.
