Seeds bought from Laas last fall endured very cold temps during delayed shipping (snow/freezing rain/massive delays) finally made it.
Never had any succes with seeds growing, this time they all made it. So now i have about 30 little tree's, what to do with them.
Thanks Laas, Bob.

Are they rootstock or edible varieties?

I planted 25 rootstock seeds last year in small pots. A third sprouted, of those about half promptly died, and I have five left that are barely 4 inches tall. I think I need to start earlier in the season next year, and with better seeds.

Normally if I have more seedlings than I need, and can't give them away, I just toss the weakest ones until I have a reasonable amount.

It was a combo package,Flying Dragon, the rest are very choice varieties for me, for not having a lot of knowledge of citrus right now. 30 seeds,30 tree's, that is not bad.Hope they get big soon.

If you want to try grafting at some point keep the flying dragon varieties for sure. I've never tried growing fruiting varieties from seed but what I understand is that there are only a few varieties that will produce fruit from a seedling anytime soon. Depending on what you're trying to grow and how patient you are it may be worth getting grafted varieties.

Brian, you are right. I don't have too much time left(75 years old). I better buy my tree's now, but i still going to try growing the little plants i have now.
I have ordered some already for delivery this spring.I wish i have some rootstock to graft too.I like to make my own tree's. That's the fun of it.
