The pomegranate can be propagated easily by either hardwood or softwood cuttings, or root suckers can be dug from the base of the plant and transplanted. It is also possible to increase them by layering, budding or grafting. Pomegranates also grow easily from seed, but by this method the resulting tree will be ALWAYS ALWAYS of inferior quality. -Millet |

the wild Mother trees in cali are 8-10 foot tall and about 6 ft around ..
always loaded and full of ants but really good fruit...
i think someone must of just threw out a rotten one and poof there up and growing im almost 40 and as a kid i never seen them as a teen either its by an old Gas station where they sold Fruit when it closed so possible im riht ..
If i get some to grow your welcome too some i think we planted 3 fruits full of seeds and are really hoping each little one gets 5 or as many as there parents will allow them to have but i think over 200 seeds just in case some dont grow ...
my african grey absolutly loves Pamagranits more then the other 5 parrots here do so there for her .. and me LOL Tammy _________________ If it breaths and loves life Im a Friend..

Westwood, by inferior I mean the quality and taste of the FRUIT, and not the tree itself. The taste and quality of the fruit from seedling trees are inferior to grafted, budded, rooted, or air layered trees. Laaz, get the tree. As Westwood said, they do not grow very big, even when mature. The flowers are a birght awesome- awesome red color and shaped like a trumpet. The fruit is a greenish/tan color and than turns red when mature. Looks like Christmas ornaments hanging from the tree. In your yard it would be a show piece. The kids next door might sneek over and pick them LOL. The variety Nana is the dwarf. Look and see if your store is selling the standard or the Nana variety. - Millet |

Well I planted 5 seeds in the same pot a few days ago and so far 2 of them have come up. Figured I would just see how they come out. Can't find anyone close that has any for me to check out. I have found that I much prefer to see the tree I'm going to get rather that order them.
I'll post a pic tommorrow. How are yours doing now? Any pic's?
Thanks _________________ Disneygirl |

O.K. here is the picture. Sorry, kind of forgot. Sill only the 2 came up. Just gave them some fertilizer.
Here is a pic of the Honeydew Melon planted about the same time.
They are both in the bottom of my Ponkan pot. I needed some room in the "greenhouse" area of my kitchen floor to start the other seeds (Key Lime, Meyer lemon and the other is either Eureka or Libson lemon and an assortment of different exotic flowers, trees and shrubs ).
Eventually, the Ponkan and the Cara Cara will go outside, but for now they are happy inside and so am I, as I still have those CREATURES (psyllid)
on my Valencia. So far I only have a few of them left, but I know that can change rapidly, like the way they initially appeared.
Anyways, those are the new babies. Hope they grow very tasty, only time will tell. _________________ Disneygirl |

Well, I only have one now. My son decided to disassemble one of them and then came to tell me he could not fix it. So there you have it the sole survivor, the one that is in the middle of the pot. _________________ Disneygirl |

I have a spray bottle that has ONLY had water in it. I use it to grow all of my seedlings. The seelings and seedlings to be are all sprayed with the water, have not had a problem, so I don't know what happened to yours. I usually give the about 4-5 sprays to the whole plant and if the soil needs more water than that, then I spray water on the soil only. Just give it another go. By the way in that pot I planted 6 seeds and only the 2 came up, of course there is only one now and hopefully my son won't feel the need to take that one apart too.
Thanks and good luck. _________________ Disneygirl |
