They now ranged from $2.59 to $3.99 a pound, mostly coming from Australia at this time of the year.
Usually, we get a 10 lb bag of valencias or Navels for under $5.00, now a pound of Australian Navels (did not say which cultivar, but most likely a Navelina due to small size and the first one to hit the market), is pegged at $3.59/lb, while the Murcott "Tangerines" as labeled, got the highest price of $3.99/lb. That is from our local rizzi class type of grocery stores. I usually go there for their excellent wines and freshest fruits.
Haven't checked the big box yet, and the megastores. So how's the prices in your local stores?
