The bare-root season is in full swing! Costco have bare-rooted plants. So does Home Depot and Lowes at least in our area. The Dave Wilson Nursery bare rooted trees have arrived at all the retail outlets I have been to since last December 26, 2007.

The Flavor Finale Pluot, which is rare for the retail outlet, was sold out before they got to the retail nursery stores as evidenced by Bay Laurel Nursery: http://www.baylaurelnursery.com/order/clicksite.cgi?cart_id=&xm=on&ftr=Pluots&p=Pluots_Plumcots_Etc

But one California Nursery was closed during the Holidays and they opened only last January 2. I was there before they opened this year and got myself one of the only two Flavor Finale Pluot they have on stock. The Flavor Finale Pluot completed my desired range of pluot harvest dates, as I desperately needed a very late season pluot to complete my collection. Now I would have extended enjoyment of pluots from late May to late October. If you hurry over at Mid City Nursery in American Canyon, California, you could get the other Flavor Finale Pluot. Here's the contact info if you want to order instead of driving to get there like I did:

Joe:
Do you think there will have scion plouts there at CRFG Meeting on 1/12/08?
I find that plouts are the easiest to graft and will take a number of different cultivars for its keep.

There shouldn't be, since all pluots are patented. I think it will be three to 5 more years before the patents on the old pluots expires.
