Here is a picture of my edible date palms

Is this something I should be worried about. I started growing these from seeds about a year and half ago. Any recommendations?

What are you fertilizing with? The left leaflet in the picture with your hand shows the typical orange "freckles" of potassium deficiency. That could also be causing the leaf tip dieback. Or it could be a lack of some other nutrient.

I honestly have not used any fertilizer since I planted them...What would you recommend?

Hi Matt. All of my palms are in the ground, but I use a heavy top dressing of Black cow in the spring and then use Osmocote with trace minerals & Epsom salt every other month. I use a heavy dose of Epsom salt in late fall as it seems to help them out in the winter months (Jan-Feb).

Palms are not picky feeders, but they do tend to need somewhat more potassium (third number on a fertilizer bag) than they do N or P. If I could choose, in Florida soils, I'd likely use an 8-2-10 or similar. But in a pot, plain soluble 20-20-20 will likely help a lot.

Date palms normally show stress from cold, water or any other stress at the tip first. This is fairly normal browning. I would not worry about it. I don't think fertilizer will help. Maybe more consistent water but this amount of brown tip is not bad. Remember that date palms use more water than ANY other tree or crop. They take lots and like a soil that would be considered to wet for most trees.
